Spring Update II
Since my last update, we have tried to stay the course of my Spring Timeline despite all the CPS testing interruptions. At the end of February, my students created their own Maker’s statements on what making means to them and listed their favorite design challenges.
Last week, we started the Dyson: Design, Build, Test Program. During that week, the students have been redesigning our classroom space to best fit the needs of our program. They have been sketching their designs through two iterations. This past week, we are doing a reverse engineering challenge, where the students will have to dissect a Dyson vacuum cleaner, figure out the different parts of the vacuum, reflect on the design of the vacuum, and put the vacuum cleaner back together.

Alec L. - 8th Grade
To be a dreamMaker is to be able to have the ability to express your creativity. You are given a task to accomplish, and it's up to your idea and decide on how to complete it. Making is to build your own creations.

To me to be a dreamMaker it means to live your dreams, and make them into a reality. There is a huge difference from being a dreamMaker to just being a maker. When you are a maker you create things for yourself or other people that help them in life. But when you are a dreamMaker you create dreams for yourself or even other people. You make the impossible in to the possible. You change the lives of so many others around, by letting the world know that dreams are not just mindless creativity being wasted in head, instead you can actually make your dreams in to something you never thought it could it be. That is what I think it means to be a dreamMaker, and I'm very proud to be one!
